Five Healthy Snacks that will help you lose weight.

We all love a good snack but unfortunately snacking can cause excessive weight gain when done without mindfulness. In the next lines, we are going to explore five healthy snack ideas that will not only help with our health journey but are also tasty.

1.) Red bell pepper and guacamole

Red bell peppers are the healthiest of the bell peppers. Due to their red color, they are high in antioxidants such as capsanthin and carotene. In addition to this, they are a great source of vitamin C. Having one large bell pepper with 85grams of guacamole, has a calorie count of under 200. These snacks have healthy fats, is filled with fibers and is a real treat.

2.) Greek yogurt and mixed berries

Plain Greek yoghurt is one of the healthiest yogurts out there if not the healthiest. It is very high in protein and calcium. Pairing this with a variety of berries will make for a delicious snack. Berries are high in antioxidants and a variety of vitamins. 100 grams of plain, full-fat Greek yoghurt and ½ cup or (50 grams) of a mixture of berries will have a calorie count of under 150 calories and 10 grams of protein. That’s a good bargain, right?

3.) Peanut butter and apple slices

Peanut butter is really good at reducing bad cholesterol in the body. But it is important to note that, peanut butter should be taken in moderation. When taken in excess, it can have an adverse effect and instead contribute to weight gain.
It tastes amazing with apples; apples are rich in fiber and polyphenol antioxidants which improve digestion and help minimize the risk of heart diseases.

Pair a medium apple with 15 grams (1 tablespoon) of natural peanut butter. You will definitely thank me later. This wonderful snack is just under 200 calories.

4.) Dark Chocolate

Whoever said we had to give up on chocolate in order to stay healthy? Dark chocolate that is made up of at least 70% cocoa solids has proven to be able to help reduce blood pressure and the risk of heart disease due to the high level of flavanols it contains. 40 grams of dark chocolate a day is advisable. Not only will you get your daily dose of magnesium, but it is a great stress reliever.

5.) Cherry tomatoes and mozzarella

These two are the perfect match. Tomatoes are one of the healthiest vegetables out there. They are high in vitamin C, potassium and lycopene. Lycopene is some kind of antioxidant which helps in reducing the risk of cancer and heart diseases.

Mozzarella is rich in protein, vitamin B12 and calcium. It also increases the level of good cholesterol. 60 grams of mozzarella cheese and 149 grams of cherry tomatoes have a calorie count of under 200 calories.
