
A natural sweetener made by a gentle evaporation of the yacon juice at low temperature. Yacon is a plant growing in Peru, whose tubers contain mainly fructo-oligo sacharides (prebiotic fibres). This type of sugar is very sweet but does not get absorbed by the human body, therefore it does not raise blood sugar and has a low caloric value. Thanks to that yacon syrup is safe for diabetics and for people on a controlled diet.
